Castel del Piano appears to have been inhabited as early as the Paleolithic and Neolithic ages, as evidenced by finds from local archaeological excavations. The Antiquarium’s display of 120 pieces tells the story of southern Etruria, the tuff area, the Chiusina area and the Ombrone valley during the period from the 3rd to the 1st century BC.
